Blueberry Picking

Today we went Blueberry Picking with our PALS Playgroup. We had ALOT of fun, but got soaking wet in the process!!

It has rained every evening here for the past three nights, Thank God because we needed it.
As you can see in the pictures, the rows for the berry bushes are VERY close together. It's not easy to get through them, especially when they are all wet from the rain.
I LOVE Aidman's hat and so does he! He calls himself a cowboy when wearing it, but I think he looks like a little ole' man gearing up to go golfing. hahahaha!

Here we are trying to get through the rows.

The nice thing about this farm is that they use no chemicals on their plants. Their #1 rule to the kids was that they must come back with blue tongues.
See how wet the kids are? It's from the bushes!

See the pout on Lyssy's face? It's because she had to walk through puddles with her sandals on and didn't like the way it felt. Yep, she threw a big crying fit about it, but what could I do, we were stuck down a row that at the very end was filled with water.
We picked just over a pound of blueberries. The nice thing was the price! Just $4 a Pound, which is a steal! If I went to Publix, I would spend $3.50 for one Pint! I LOVE U-pick season!!

How fun! It makes me think of the book Blueberries for Sal, one of our favorites!

I have really been wanting to go to this strawberry farm a bit over an hour away. Looking at your pictures and reading the post has sent me on a mission to find out more about it. I think my boys would have a blast. Thanks for the post.

This looks like so much fun! I really want to take Kiddo blueberry picking this year. He talks about it all the time. I am having a hard time finding a U-PICK that is organic, though. I don't like him getting down in the pesticides.
