Kids in the Kitchen ~ Grapefruit Juice

We LOVE fresh juice! And we LOVE citrus! We are lucky that we live in Florida because we can get it fairly easily. This weekend my friend K let me know that her hubby just got done picking 40 grocery store bags of grapefruits and that I needed to come and get some of it. WOOHOO, Score!

I did not plan on juicing the grapefruit because I would prefer to just eat the grapefruit, but the kiddos begged to juice it.

To take away some of the tartness we also juiced some oranges to add in and it made a very lovely juice that the kids have been drinking like crazy! I think I need to go pick up a few more bags from K!

Go and check out what other kids are cooking at Kids in the Kitchen.

Green MTM

Once again I told the kids that they had to find green things that they wanted to eat to put in their Muffin Tin Monday. They got cucumbers, pickles, olives, celery, and broccoli. I told them that I could make green dip (cream cheese, mayo, dill, s &p, garlic, and onion powder) for one of their tins. Then Aidman said "hey, we need more than just veggies". I wish I would have thought ahead and bought some green spinach wraps, but I didn't so instead I made turkey and cheese rolls that were held together with green picks. They LOVED their green lunch!

Yesterday I saw a GREAT color mixing art project on laughpaintcreate that I knew would be great to do today!

First we mixed blue and yellow with a paintbrush.

Then we used sponge brushes to add green paint.

And feathers to add white paint.

And finally we stuck on gold stars!

They LOVED all the different steps and items used to paint with!

Crazy Caterpillar

About two weeks ago, Aidman went to a friends house and made this awesome grass caterpillar. All it is is a knee high, soil, grass seeds, google eyes, and pipe cleaners.

After alot of water and beautiful Florida sunshine for 2 weeks, it's looking more like a shaggy dog than a caterpillar.
So, Aidman decided it needed a hair cut.

This was a great cutting and fine motor activity, plus it was great for senses and textures.

Grass Gg

Sorry I didn't get this up on Monday like usual, our entire family was in a Gigantic Grumpy mood yesterday (and I'm not just saying that to get the Gg in) so mama was unable to sit at the computer for any amount of time.

First we went outside and picked grass. Aidman refused to help!

But, the girls and I managed to get a good amount.

Then we glued the grass to our Ggs.

They turned out pretty good.
