I've been putting off writing about what we are planning to do this school year because until just this week I didn't really know. All 3 kiddos started a co-op last week. They go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-12. What I like about it is that they have a head teacher and instead of having an assistant teacher, the parents have to volunteer. So I have to go in each of their classes 8 times throughout the school year, and I LOVE it!
Because I'm me and I still LOVE to have a plan of stuff to do at home, this is what my hope is for this school year. The kids are all learning about different themes in their classes so I can't really follow that, so I feel like my plan is alittle hodge podged, but I still hope this works.
I hope to do one and ONLY one planned activity in each area, each week.
-Science
-Math
-Literacy: for right now I'm doing the pre-K Literacy activities found here http://www.michigan.gov/mde/0,1607,7-140--69358--,00.html
-Book Project (this is not counting all the books we read throughout the week)
-Cooking with kids (to go with blog carnival)
-Art (to go with open ended art blog carnival)
-Muffin tin Monday: I usually do themes with this and do an activity that goes with the theme.
-Letter: (not like I was doing before) I have 3 workboxes in the kitchen, so I'm planning on putting one activity in each box that starts with the letter. Like for letter Mm there will be marble rolling, matching, money sorting, and magnets in the boxes. They can play in them whenever they want.
These will not be large drawn out lessons, so they will/should take very little time.
Some may ask why I'm doing more activities on top of them going to preschool. It's because they are only going 9 hours a week and I really want Aidman to be prepared for kindergarten. It's also because while we are at home I like to have a plan.

I think having a plan is super smart!! I have to have a plan no matter what:-).
I love lots of your ideas mentioned in this post. Thanks for sharing all of them.
C is starting Kindergarten in a few days and R is starting preschool tomorrow (8 hours a week). I still do work with them at home. They love it, and I think it is good for them. I think what you are doing is great. I have certain things I like to do each week but I'm also willing to throw in something different if one of my children suddenly shows an interest in something we can learn about.
I teach 3 year olds at a co-op 2 days a week. Both my girls go there also. I love it because moms get to be so involved.
