Paper Mosaics

Today I got out our favorite quilt that my Great Grandmother made for me. We talked about how she used a pattern to make something really pretty. I asked the kids which shape was used to make our quilt and they all shouted "triangle", then I asked if they'd like to use triangles to make their own pretty pattern and of course they said "yes".

I was in the other room when Aidman shouted "Mommy, come see", I came out to see him laying like this. Very cute pose!

Of course, every one else had to do the same thing.

Go see what others are doing for this weeks open ended art!

That's a great picture of your kids on your special quilt. I really like how you used a special memory as an art lesson for your kids' mosaics!

This is awesome, and the pictures are very cute. Anna did a completely self-guided guilt collage after reading a book which mentioned quilt. I love it when she does spontaneous projects all by herself.

What a beautiful and very special quilt. Isn't it wonderful to have treasures like that to share with our children? And then to incorporate art too!
