Dots

Last night Jon and Kate Plus 8 was on as my Background Noise. I just happened to look at the tv to see the kiddos using Do A Dot's to write their names. Kate was saying how it's good for prewritting skills.

I have these awesome Do A Dot's and have never thought to do this with my kiddos. They normally just love use them as a free art. Kate's reasoning made alot of sense to me so I decided we'd give it a try when we had a free moment.

This evening while I was cooking dinner the kiddos needed something to do so I gave them each a piece of paper with the letter Ll on it and a Bingo Dobber (as we call them).

Lyssy LOVED it and wanted to do more, so I gave her a paper with her name on it.

It was a fun, easy, and educational activity to occupy them while I was cooking.

We've done this before, and my 3-year-old loved it. You can also print out do-a-dot activities here: http://makinglearningfun.com/themepages/DoaDotMiniMarkerPage.htm

What fantastic things you think of to do with your kids! I liked the lemon/lime activity too, may have to copy that.

I like this! I've been trying to think of more activities to do with Esme's name...
