So when they came to me this morning saying that they wanted their muffin tin for breakfast, I told them that they needed to go find (in our kitchen) orange breakfast foods to put in the tin. They listed LOTS of orange foods, but then decided that many wouldn't be good for breakfast. They did pretty well on the first five items (cheese, dried apricots, orange, orange juice, cantaloupe), and had to get creative on the sixth item (graham cracker with cream cheese and orange sprinkles).

What a fantastic way to get the kids involved in the meal planning! I can't wait until mine can participate like that :-D
I love that they helped plan the meal. It came together so well!
What a great idea! I can't wait to get John to participate like that, too. He helps in the kitchen a LOT but is still in the process of learning colors and whatnot. By next year he should be an MTM pro, too :)
what a great idea--I am going to try that with my kids for next week's tin--thanks!
Great idea!! I remember your blog was one of the first that I started following when I first started, I couldn't wait till Emily was old enough to start MTM now I can't imagine why I waited so long to start :0)
Apricots? OMG why didnt I think of that! Very great idea!
I love that you had your kids help put the MTM together. What a great idea! I'm looking forward to getting input from my little one!
Very cute tins. I was bummed when I looked through all of my sprinkles and did not have orange. Way to be creative.
I LOVE that you had your kiddos look for orange foods...what a great idea! I might have to borrow that! I also love the graham cracker w/cream cheese & sprinkles...very creative!
Very nice tin and it's great to get the kids in on it. When we went shopping last week, I had my 4 year old help me pick out some orange foods to put in our tin. She loves to be involved with stuff like this. :)
They did awesome - I might have to have the kids do one or two in the color series also! How fun!
Getting your kids involved is such a great idea! They came up with some yummy food.
love it. i can't wait until my girls are old enough to pick out their own themed items for their tins. but on the other hand... yes. yes i can wait.
They did a fantastic job!
