Jars, Jugs, and Jellybeans

I have TONS of jars! It's because my Granny in TN loves to can food from her garden and send it to me. Luckily, we love everything she sends.

Today, I got out jars of all sizes and lids to match and let the kids have at it.

Then I filled a milk jug about half full and let the kids pour water into the jars.

We decided to put food coloring in the jars to make it pretty. Aidman is stirring to mix it in.


Then we tapped on the jars with a spoon to hear the different sounds they made.

Look how pretty! It sounded pretty too!

Afterwards, we dumped the water into a pitcher and then into ice cube trays. Tomorrow we will play with the green ice.

Next time I will add blue food coloring to one kids and yellow to the others so that it will make green when mixed together.

For snack time we had Jelly beans! I gave each child an empty applesauce container filled with jelly and an empty container. I asked each child to guess how many jellybeans they had. Then we counted the beans.

We were so surprised that Aidman and Lyssy had the same amount of jellybeans.

Before eating, they had to graph all of their beans. Needless to say, it was a FUN snack time.

A couple weeks ago, we won a giveaway at ABC and 123 for some cute Mahalo circus puppets. They arrived today and my kiddos could not be more excited! Right away they asked for my to make a puppet stage (luckly I had been saving a big box for a moment just like this). As you can see, I did not get fancy (because they gave me no time to) and just cut a rectangle out of a box. They have spent over an hour playing with these today!

We got a pretty acrobat, a silly clown, and an elephant that has a funny hat. All of these puppets are nicely made and are sure to hold up against lots of playtime.


Aidman peeked up to see what was going on on the other side.


Lyssy and Daddy had snuggle time while watching Mommy and Aidman do a silly puppet show.

Muffin Tin Monday

We had a special Muffin Tin Monday today! There was no theme, so we decided to take ours outside for a water time picnic. We ate ham and cheese wraps, salad, star shaped marshmallows, and cantaloupe.



While I was making lunch, the kiddos ran through the sprinklers. After everyone was nice and wet (and a bit cooled off from the heat) we sat down to a yummy picnic Muffin Tin.

After lunch the kiddos got into the kiddie pool.

They were having a really good time.


Their favorite part was running...

and jumping in the pool.

Dressing Up!

If you don't have a dress up box, GET ONE!! Not only is it Hysterical to watch your kiddos try on silly outfits, but they are learning SO MUCH while they are doing it. They are learning to role play, gaining imagination, self esteem, cooperative play, and motor skills to put on different types of clothes, etc.

The types of dress up clothes you could have are: old halloween costumes (I find them for Cheap right after halloween), old clothes from mom and dad, wigs, scarves, hats, tiaras, purses, shoes, etc.

Aidman looked like a Christmas Pimp.

My niece Laneybug had so much fun dressing up!

Lyssy looked like she was ready to go out on the town.

A Fun and HOT Day

We LOVE our yearly tradition for the 4th of July!! Every year we go to the minor league baseball game of the Flying Tigers (spring training home to the Detroit Tigers) to watch the game and then the fireworks.

This year some family and friends joined us. 9 kids were there to play together when they go bored of the game.

The really nice thing about this ball field is the big hill the have in the outfield that the kids can run and roll up and down.


Aidman loves the ball game so much that he just had to peek over the wall to see what was happening.

For the special occasion, they had this BIG flag and star painted on the grass.


Then it was time for the AMAZING fireworks display. Lyssy insisted on wearing earplugs so that it wouldn't be too loud for her, and it worked well.

It was such a happy day!

Ss Cooking with Kids

My kiddos LOVE to get in the Kitchen!!

For the letter Ss, we Spread some peanut butter and jelly onto bread to make yummy Sandwiches. I let my kiddos make their own sandwiches ALL the time, they enjoy doing it, it gives me alittle bit of a break while I'm getting the rest of their lunch together, and it's good for small motor and practical life skills.

Another Ss food we made this week was Salad! This is yet another thing that I almost always let the kiddos make when we have it.

Cut red bell pepper with a butter knife.

Cut cucumber, broccoli, cheese, carrots, and add tomatoes.

All American Tea Time and Picnic Talk

This week's Picnic Table Talk over at ABC and 123 is all about being Patriotic for the 4th of July.

We decided to incorporate our weekly Tea Time Thursday with On a Whimm in our celebrations. We did an All American Tea Party!

We had Corn Dog muffins, Shortcakes with strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream, Pickles, and Iced Tea. For decorations, we tied blue and red ribbons to our fancy glasses and got to use our red and blue toothpick pinwheels.

We even made a cute Flag craft to decorate our tea party.

First we ripped red paper.

Then we glued the red stripes onto white paper.

We added star stickers to a blue rectangle.

And WAALAA!! A beautiful flag!

We LOVE the 4th of July. Since Daddy and I got married, we have always gone to the local minor league baseball game and then watch the fireworks from the stadium. We love baseball, fireworks, and ballpark hotdogs so it's just always a GREAT All American Day for us. We are already getting excited for this Saturday!!

S is for Sensory

For the letter Ss, we have been doing some Ss sensory activities. Check out this GREAT Ebook to see some of the reasons that I LOVE sensory activities.

Today Lyssy and AB played in shaving cream. Look at their faces! They LOVED it!

The great thing about shaving cream is that it appeals to the sense of smell and touch.

We also played in shredded paper.

I hid plastic snakes and spiders in it for the kiddos to find.

Of course we got in the sand box and we sifted it! I had to move it under the carport because it's been raining here nonstop this week.

We also scrub toys with sponges and soap in the bathtub, but I did not take pictures of that.
