Sliding Rock in NC

The one thing my sister Britt Britt wanted to do on our trip to TN was to go to this place called Sliding Rock. It's basically a 60 water slide that happens to be a rock/waterfall. This place was BEAUTIFUL!!! We had so much fun sliding down this, the only problem was that the water was F R E E Z I N G !!! I'm talking it felt like needles all over your skin freezing. We got used to it though after several times of sliding down.



The kids didn't get to go in because the current would have been alittle too strong for them, but they had SO much FUN watching Aunt Britt Britt and I go down.

Creek Play in TN

We had so much FUN exploring a creek while in TN!!



Aidman and Aunt Britt Britt loved the big rocks!

Gran Gran and Lyssy tried to keep their feet out of the freezing water.



Mommy thought the creek was so peaceful and relaxing!

Aidman had a great time crawling on this big fallen tree trunk.


"OH YEAH"

They decided to build a rock house.



It turned out very nice!

Beautiful Mountains of TN

Just had to share these breathtaking views of the TN mountains!



This is why they are called the Smokey Mountains.

Pick Pick Picking in TN

We love running around the hills in TN at our Gran Gran and Pa's house.

While there this past week we picked tons of fruits and veggies.

watermelon gords
blackberries

apples
purple and green globe grapes

pears (that weren't quite ripe)

blueberries (we went to a blueberry farm for this as some animals ate our grandparents blueberry bush all the way to the ground).

We also picked corn and TONS of grape tomatoes.

Super Summer Swap

We received our packages from the Super Summer Swap hosted by Superheroes and Princesses and Life of a Dairy Queen! We had so much fun with this! From putting together our packages to send off, to checking the mailbox, to ripping open the packages, to finding awesome new things to explore. We loved the whole process.


As you can see, Lyssy is super excited.

R who lives in Massachusetts, sent some awesome items from there.
* a book about cranberries because they are grown in MA.
* crasins (which Lyssy went NUTS with excitement over!)
* Dr. Suess magnets because Dr. Suess is from MA.
* A growing duck (which is really cool btw.) because R's favorite book about ducks is set in MA.
* and Princess stickers because all little grils love princesses.

Thank you SO MUCH R!! Lyssy LOVED her package!

D, who also lives in Massachusetts, sent Aidman a package.
* a GREAT lap book with tons of cool pictures of D, plus some fun facts about MA. (the first thing Aidman said when he looked at is was "D looks just like me!")
* craisins because cranberries are grown in MA.
* Yummy red, white, and blue jelly beans.
* a very cool lobster shaped lollipop.
* a mini book of D in all the seasons.
* and a lego 4 wheeler. Aidman built it and has been driving it around nonstop since he got it. He loves it!!

We had so much fun doing this Super Summer Swap and can't wait to do another one!


Also, we are headed on a road trip! We are going to TN to see our Gran Gran and Pa for a week. We are so excited and can't wait to get outta the heat for a bit! I hope to post some great pics while I'm there, but ya never know while on vacation...

Dogs in a Blanket

Today the kiddos made Hot Dogs in a Blanket. They took half a Grands biscuit and smashed and spread it out.

Then they rolled half a hot dog in it.

The whole thing was very fun and easy for them.

Then they baked for about 15 minutes at 350.

They were yummy!

Cake Decorating

Tonight I went to my friend Tanya's house where she was teaching a Cake Decorating 101 class for us. We all brought our own baked cake and she provided the rest. It was AMAZING!! I had so much fun!

She taught us how to level cakes, do a crumb coating, mix colors, uses different tips, etc. We got to practice with different tips on cupcakes, the clown cake, and the clown hat cake, before making our own cakes.

We are going to use the 2 clown cakes that we practiced on for a birthday celebration at the park for PALS.

Here is MY cake!! I have decorated cakes before, but it's been are REALLY long time, I was very surprised at how easily it came back to me. I loved how the clouds came out. I think Lyssy is going to be so surprised when she wakes up in the morning to find a rainbow cake sitting on the table!

Heather made this cute baseball cake.

Amy did an AWESOME job making this football cake.

Angela's flower cake looks super groovey!

And I love Karen's monster cake!

There were about 5 other cakes that I missed, but they were all super cute too! I loved seeing everyone's creativity in this! I really hope that this inspires me to make my own cake more often! Thank you Tayna for such an awesome night!
